In your own pool the dangers revolve around the need to be constantly vigilant about the fact that anyone is in the pool and ensure they are monitored at all times.
Most accidental drowning seem to occur at home when children or adults enter a pool when no one knows they are there.
We would always recommend that pools have a fence with lockable gate around them. You should examine the walls, and floor of your pool so that you understand how water enters and leaves the pool and see if anyone can get trapped there.
You should also try and mark the depth of the pool to help any visitors you may have.
